CMHA is excited to have Ryan Martin as an ambassador for Ride Don’t Hide. The journey he has been on mentally and his journey physically across Canada will help inspire others to challenge themselves to take a stand against the stigma surrounding mental health.

Ryan Martin is a 23-year-old from Guelph, Ontario and started MINDCYCLE to help motivate himself and others to challenge their mental struggles. He is cycling across Canada from Tofino, BC to St. John’s, Newfoundland this summer to help raise awareness for mental health and to raise funds for the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Ride Don’t Hide. Ryan has had his own battles with mental health over the past couple of years in the form of anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder. This ride is spreading the word and helping to make sure each person that struggles with mental health gets the support they deserve to help them move forward in their life. He chose the challenging task to ride across Canada because he wanted to do something that was bigger than him and that would be an exciting challenge for him. Mental health is something that cannot be ignored and needs to be spoken about, and Ryan is helping make that possible.

As an ambassador for Ride Don’t Hide, Ryan is encouraging other Canadian’s to get involved to dispel the stigma by registering or donating to Ride Don’t Hide in one of the 30 community’s the ride is taking place in. His goal is to raise $100,000 for mental health during his cross-Canada ride. Follow his ride on Instagram @MINDCYCLE and join Ride Don’t Hide to be like Ryan and end the stigma around mental health.
