The Co-operators is proud to partner with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) on its Ride Don’t Hide community bike ride.
In my role at The Co-operators, I’m fortunate to attend events, sit on councils and engage with the people in the communities where we do business. Several years ago, I started to notice a common trend in many of the conversations I was having – mental health awareness and funding was a key need in communities and organizations, everywhere.
The Co-operators was already a partner with the CMHA, so we decided to get involved with their Ride Don’t Hide initiative. Our first involvement with Ride Don’t Hide was in Regina, 5 years ago. Today, as an organization, we proudly promote participation of the ride to all staff across Canada. The ride is a great way to get staff and financial advisors involved right across Canada while helping to bring attention to mental health and raise funds for many important local mental health needs. Our partnership with CMHA was a great fit! At the same time, organizationally we were developing a mental health strategy that focused on best mental health workplace practices. The focus being to develop innovative products and services for our clients to promote mentally healthy workplaces and helping to build stronger mental health support networks in our communities through strategic partnerships, education and advocacy.
We continue to be involved with Ride Don’t Hide across Canada because not only is it important to our communities but it is also a way for our staff to get engaged and active for something many of our staff care deeply about.
We are so impressed on how the Ride Don’t Hide initiative has grown over the years and we are so glad to be a part of the movement.
This is why The Co-operators ride, why will you ride?
