The Canadian Mental Health Association thanks you for your participation in Ride Don’t Hide. You have supported people living with mental illness and your community by spreading hope, inspiring recovery and help breaking the stigma attached to mental illness.
Together, we have raised over $280,000(and counting) to support programs and services in Greater Vancouver! In addition, your support has helped raise over $1.8 million from coast to coast in 31 communities. Our donation site is open until July 31st 2018.
On behalf of Ride Don’t Hide Greater Vancouver, thank you for joining us in our largest ever event. Together you have made strides in changing the way we view mental health and ending the stigma around mental illness.

We are pleased to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the CMHA Vancouver Community Bike Ride as part of the 2018 Ride Don’t Hide and to acknowledge the contribution of the many supporters and staff members that have led to its continuing success. Some have participated every year and the Ride would not have become the great success it has become without such dedicated team members.
In 2009, Chris Reynolds, an advocate for good mental health and member of Central Vancouver Cycling Club, inspired CMHA Vancouver-Burnaby to host the first CMHA Community Bike Ride in BC to raise funds to support programs for people with mental illness. It was a big gamble as there had never been such a Ride before and there were concerns that the prevailing stigma against mental illness would discourage people. Despite the pouring rain, the tremendous support received from supporters and staff of the CMHA meant the event was a success. It went from strength to strength in the following years. The foundations for the Ride had been established and the lessons learned would prove invaluable in future years.
Ride Don’t Hide Greater Vancouver Ride is hosted jointly by three branches of the Canadian Mental Health Association in BC. Please visit their websites to find out more about their unique programs and services in their communities:
